God’s Storehouse

Scott Trinity UMC supports God’s Storehouse in Bradner, Ohio. God’s Storehouse purpose is to help people in need in our area (basically the Wayne, Bradner, West Millgrove, Risingsun and Lakota Ministerial area). This help may be in the form of food or for a utility assist.

If it is for a utility assist, God’s Storehouse will only help once within a one-year period if individuals have a shutoff notice. They can help up to $150.00 by sending a check to the utility company. If the need is for food, they are able to help several times a year.

God’s Storehouse also makes Easter and Christmas food baskets to help people. These baskets are larger quantities and are above and beyond the above assistance. They usually make between 60 and 80 of these baskets at Easter and Christmastime.

The needs at this time are below. We will be purchasing the perishable items needed for the food baskets.

  • Laundry soap
  • cleaning supplies, especially antibacterial
  • pork & beans
  • baked beans
  • spaghetti sauce
  • toilet paper
  • canned fruit
  • canned soup
  • ramen noodles
  • kidney beans
  • Jello/pudding
  • instant potatoes

Christmas basket distribution will be on Dec. 14, drive-up only. Assembly is typically done at St. James Lutheran Church in Bradner at the corner of Caldwell and Timmons Streets. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated. If you are interested in joining the organization, you may call 419-288-2114.
